10.3. Tools

Several applications may help us gather the information we are interested in and allow us to select (stages 1 and 2: searching and selecting), beside the tools defined in the “Social bookmarking” and “Content syndication and subscriptions” strategies in this document. Some of these applications are listed below:

Pinterest It helps us search contents (ideas, in a very visual format), choose and arrange them in personal dashboards created by the users.

Paper.li This is a tool to create a digital “newspaper” that is customized according to the user’s interests.
Flipboard This application allows for the creation of a subject channel where new publications that are interesting for the user are added daily.
LinkedIn Pulse A “digital newspaper” for LinkedIn.
Scoop.it Similar to Paper.li or LinkedIn Pulse, it allows to share contents, filter them and store them in order to read them later.
Storify It makes it possible to create a timeline from the user’s own publications or from other people’s publications in websites and social networks.
